I don’t know about you, but I get just a little suspicious when I see offers of “free” consultations or assessments. Let’s be honest: Marketing isn’t free. You either pay to do it yourself or you pay an outside agency to help you with it. But how do you know if you even need help? And how do you evaluate if the help you seek will give you the results you want?
Good doctors don’t prescribe medicine without examining patients carefully. Good marketing agencies don’t prescribe a course of action without taking a careful look at a company’s existing marketing efforts—and the market they’re in. That’s really what a legitimate marketing assessment is about. It’s taking a look at your market (or audience), evaluating what you’re currently doing to reach that audience and suggesting some specific activities to help you achieve your goals.
But how do you know if you even need an assessment? There are two pretty simple (you might even say obvious) answers to that question.
The first answer is that you’re just not satisfied with the results you’re getting from your current marketing efforts. You’re spending time, effort and money, but you’re not generating enough leads, or the leads you’re getting simply aren’t panning out.
The second answer is that you simply don’t know how you’re doing. A lot of companies find themselves in this position. They have a sense that things aren’t optimal, but they don’t have the systems in place to tell them definitively how they’re doing. They don’t know how they stack up against their competition. They don’t know how hard or easy it is for potential clients to find them. They can’t tell (with any degree of confidence) exactly how many leads their website generates in a month. And they don’t know exactly how their other marketing efforts (direct mail, email, Facebook, Twitter, etc.) have performed. If that sounds familiar, a free marketing assessment can help you at least establish a baseline.
Once you know where your marketing stands, you can make specific decisions about what you need to do to improve your marketing results. Will it cost you money? Yes. Will you spend that money with us? We’d love it if you did, but that will depend on whether you think we can deliver the solutions you need to get the results you want.
We’d love to help you figure out where you stand with your current online marketing efforts. And we’d love to show you how to increase the amount of traffic coming to your site and to leverage your website so that visitors take action and turn into leads.
If you think it’s worth 30 minutes of your time to do that, you’ll walk away with actionable tips for improving your website—whether you decide to work with us or not. If that sounds reasonable to you, I invite you to sign up for our free 30-minute inbound marketing assessment.
Will a free marketing assessment really help your business? If nothing else, you’ll have a better idea of where you actually stand—and what’s possible.
